George, Bermuda
Famous for its beautiful weather, Bermuda shorts, and knee
socks, Bermuda has much to offer as a vacation destination. St.
George, also called St. George’s Town, was first settled in the
early 1600’s. This former capital of Bermuda is approximately
500 miles due east of North Carolina. Many of its colorful
Bermuda stone buildings were constructed between the 1700s and
1900s. Bermuda offers a number of historical sites including:
Unfinished Church, the Old Rectory, St. Peter's Church, and
several of interesting forts (Fort Victoria, Fort George, Fort
St. Catherine, Fort Albert, Gate’s Fort and more).
